I have issues getting an ultrasound image

What is it?

At one point during the workflow, I have issues getting an ultrasound image or performing a 3D acquisition.

One of those messages might appear: "no probe connected", "message 43", "message 55", "message 58", "message 60".

How to investigate?

The main thing to do is to characterize the problem as much as possible in order to determine the potential root causes:

  1. Ask the customer about the frequency of apparition of the issue.
  2. Launch Promap without any probe connected. See if an error message appears. If so, go to step 7.
  3. Launch 2D mode, then plug the probe: see if an error message appears. If so, go to step 6. If there is no error but no ultrasound image, please read this article.
  4. Launch 3D mode: see if an error message appears. If so, go to step 6.
  5. Perform a 3D acquisition: see if an error message appears. If so, go to step 6.
  6. If possible, perform the steps 3 to 5 with another probe.
  7. Perform a hard shutdown following those steps.
  8. Retrieve the logs of PROMAP following those steps.
  9. Check the state of the beamformer following those steps.
  10. Open a customer request via this form. Attach the logs to the form.

How to solve?

Depending on the behaviour of the probe, the software and the error message that pops-up, the solutions can be various.

Usually, the solution consists of a software upgrade, or a change of the probe or the central unit under the appropriate commercial conditions.
