I get a message "Reboot and Select proper Boot device [...]" when turning on the system


What is it?

The messages "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" or "Missing Operating System" appears when the system starts.

How to investigate?

You can find below the instructions to follow in order to solve this issue. Those steps have to be performed only by a Koelis representative.

  • Turn off the Trinity system
  • Check that there is no USB key plugged to the Trinity. If so, unplug it and try to boot the Trinity.

If no USB key plugged, or if it didn’t solve the issue :

  • Take a keyboard with you and plug it to the Trinity
  • Turn on the Trinity
  • Press F2 a lot of times when starting the system.
  • Before entering the BIOS, you might have to enter a password. The password is: Koelis2006. Then press Enter.
  • You will then reach the BIOS of TRINITY.

 

To navigate through the BIOS :

    • Arrows (left, right, up, down) to navigate
    • "Enter" to select
    • "Escape" to go back to previous menu

 

  • In the configuration menu, go in “Advanced”.
  • Select “SATA Configuration”.
  • Select “SATA Mode Selection”.
  • If it’s programmed in “IDE” select “RAID” and press enter.
  • Press “Escape” on your keyboard to go back to the menu.
  • Go in “Save & Exit” then “Save Changes and Reset”, confirm.
  • If you get the screen of picture, select “Start Windows Normally”.

 

If “SATA Mode Selection” is programmed in something else, or if it is already programmed in « RAID », please specify it in the form.

 

  • Open a customer request via this form.

How to solve?

Usually, performing the steps above solves the issue. Otherwise, Koelis Service team will perform the final diagnosis and will come back to you quickly.
